From the PTO President
We have had an awesome year!
I cannot say enough to thank the wonderful group of parents
we have at The New Dimensions School. With your help, we have
already accomplished all of the goals that were set for this year
and we still have several months left!
It isn’t often that one finds a group of people so willing
and committed to work together as a team for the greater good.
Each of you has brought your
own individual strengths, talents, and interests to the table and
that has resulted in truly wonderful events and activities enjoyed
by all. This year we
have enjoyed the flag dedication ceremony, a fall carnival complete
with hay rides around downtown Morganton, Grandparents Day, a hugely
successful Book Fair, a wonderful Christmas program, and a roof
raising Valentines Dance (Psst!
I even caught Mr. Wilkerson dancing to YMCA).
We also participated in a record three Christmas Parades.
We still have some fabulous events left on our calendar and I
can’t wait to see what surprises you have in store.
Coming up in March we have our Spring Book Fair and also
Spring Clean-up day; April brings our Art in the Park Carnival and
our Annual Yard Sale; May will be world famous Port-a-Pit Chicken
Dinner and Spirit Night at McDonald’s. We will round out the
2009/2010 school year in June with the Extravaganza; an event that I
can assure you will knock your socks off.
In conclusion, I want to
once again say thank you; we have the greatest group of parents.
We are not simply an organization, we are a family.
I see evidence of this everyday; in the halls of school, in
the car line, and out in the community—parents, teachers, staff, and
students working together and supporting one another to achieve
higher goals.
Thanks New Dimensions
Family!
Yours Truly,
Cindi Bradshaw, PTO President

Our annual Spring Extravaganza on June 4th showcased class performances that focused
on Core Knowledge experiences from the entire school year. The
evening began with a spaghetti dinner for family and friends, an
impressive exhibition of individual student artwork coordinated by our
Art Instructor, Ms. Carmen, a fifth grade promotion ceremony, and
finally a highly successful silent and live auction and raffle to
benefit our PTO.

The PTO ends Fall Book Fair week with one of
everyone's all-time favorites: Grandparents' Day.
Congressman Patrick McHenry led the
Pledge of Allegiance at our Flag Dedication Ceremony and fifth
graders Justin and Caitlyn helped raise the American Flag.
